This Week: March #5

A quiet photo week.

1. A 2nd birthday present for her pal Bibby. It's her birthday tomorrow - fingers crossed it fits! Feels so good to be sewing regularly again. I've got a few Oliver + S dresses lined up next...
2. New hair 'dips' are very popular.
3. Raindrops + camellia. The camellias are in full bloom in the garden - such a huge swathe of colour when we look out of the window.
4. A drink stop at the library. She was very pleased to have her own cup of milk (and ended up with an impressive milk moustache!).

  1. Love the bright fabric and ric-rac - my kind of combination! I'll have to keep those barrettes in mind - I like that they are metal, not plastic. (correct?)

    1. Yes they are metal - painted I think. Should stand up to toddler hands...I hope! x

  2. Oh! Oh! Oh! You've got hair "dips" I'm so jealous!!! And Bibby is a lucky lucky little 'un!

    1. Kate they're entirely ornamental - no hair is anywhere near her eyes! Go on, get some, you know you want to! Luckily the skirt fitted Bibby and she loved it, phew! X

  3. Ooh, her hair's growing, isn't it? There will be lots of 'dips' to add to the collection no doubt! I love that fabric too - and the fact you've made a gift rather than buying one.
I (whisper it) have ordered a dress pattern. Maybe it's the Sewing Bee, maybe it's the cost of those lovely dresses from Toast, but I'm going to give basic dressmaking a go. Wish me luck!

    1. It's slowly but surely getting longer! Hair 'dips' are still just decorative but quite fun all the same!
I'm trying to be good with presents this year - I was ultra nerdy and made a spreadsheet in January with present ideas to make. Trying to organise the crafting!
Ooh which pattern have you ordered? I'm blaming the Sewing Bee for my renewed love of sewing - they make it look so easy! I've seen some Toast-esque dress patterns recently actually - if I come across them I'll send them your way. Good luck!

  4. I think it's the GBSB effect but I'm getting quite keen on doing some dress making - very simple patterns though! I love the fabric and ricrac trim you've used, what a wonderful and generous gift. x
